Service Learning would not be an effective classroom experience without reflecting upon the different things the students learned through the service project. As instructors, you have the opportunity to spark the students' reflections and inspire growth both inside and outside the classroom. In this post, we invite you to check out the resources tools for facilitating individual and group reflection.
Over the course of the service-learning projects, reflections should progress from simple observations and expressions of awareness or empathy to considerations of the social forces at work in the community and examinations of personal values. Relationships are key to helping students expand their viewpoints and their personal identities.
